Trout Fishing Cape Cod Ponds April
MassWildLife has been busy stocking the ponds with trout. Check out their website to see which ponds have different types of trout stocked. This is always a fun time of year to get out on one of Cape Cod's beautiful lakes and ponds to try and target a freshwater fish.
Sports Port's own, Garrett and Tony have found some time to get out on the local ponds. They have had luck catching trout, largemouth bass and perch. So far, they caught the perch on a live shiner, the trout were falling prey to swimmers like the Rapala Original Floater and spinners like the Rooster Tail. The Original Floater in the larger sizes was also working on the bass.

We have love shiners, nightcrawlers and trout worms for bait fishing in freshwater. We also have live green crabs for anyone who is targeting tautog on the saltwater side. We are looking forward to the squid bite! And we have heard of a fresh migrating striped bass making it way to Martha's Vineyard. Everything will start to happen pretty soon!
Looking forward to a great fishing season!
Tight lines!
