To use a tick key, slide the device over the tick, ensuring the tick is in the teardrop hole. Slide the key flush against the skin to move the tick into the tapered slot, and then pull the key away to remove the tick completely. Afterward, clean the bite area and your hands with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.
